What is the Product Manager?

To have a successful online store you must have products available for purchase on your storefront. The Product Manager is the area of your Control Panel which allows you to create and manage these goods/services.

How do I use the Product Manager?

From the Product Manager Menu you have the ability to create new products as well as modify and delete existing products. When you click on the Product Manager, the initial menu screen displays the products you have added in alphabetical order. The Product Manager Menu will display up to 25 products on a single page before dividing into multiple pages.

You can search any products already listed within the Product Manager based on your Product Names. Enter at least one character within the Products name in the text field marked "Search Products" and click on the "Search" button. All products with that letter/word/phrase will display on the screen.

How do I create a New Product?

From the Product Manager Menu click on the "Create a new product" link to open the "Edit Product Details" screen. From this screen you will be able to enter all of the necessary information to add a product to your store.

• Product Name: this is the title of the product as it will display on the store.
• Item Number: this is the "stock" number that you will associate with the product.
• Stock Quantity: this is the total amount of the product that you have on hand
• Weight: this is the total weight of the product in pounds and/or ounces. We recommend that you include the weight of shipping materials.
• Featured Product: display products on your home page arranged by your assigned Sort Order. When products are assigned the same Sort Order, they will arrange alphabetically.
• Sort Order: a number that controls the order in which Product listings are displayed. A Sort Order of zero displays at the top of the list, higher numbers display lower on the list.
• Categories: select the categories that you want your products to display within. You may select as many categories and subcategories for each product as you like.
• Short Description: text summary of your Product, which displays to customers while navigating Categories and Subcategories in your store.
• Full Description: informative text review of your Product, which provides customers with all of the details about your Products.
• Meta Title: the text entered in this field can be seen at the top of the web browser window and search engine listings, helping search engines determine your web page relevancy for certain keyword phrases.
• Meta Keywords: the text entered in this field allows you to provide additional text for crawler-based search engines to index along with the text of your store pages. Enter words or phrases separated by commas.
• Meta Description: the text entered in this field can allow you to influence the description of your page in the crawler-based search engines supporting this tag.
• Product Image: the large image that will display on the detailed product view for each product. You can generate your own smaller thumbnail image from the large image through the product editor, or upload your own later on.

If you are satisfied with the information in the Edit Product Details screen you will need to click the "Save" button before it will create the new product. If you would prefer to exit without saving click on the "Cancel & Return" button to return to the main Product Manager screen.

Can I make changes to the Products I have already created?

You may return to the Edit Product Details screen from the Product Manager Menu by clicking the "Edit" button next to any product. You can modify any of the product information that you have previously entered at anytime. You may also make bulk stock changes to your product information from the main Product Manager Screen by selecting the products you want to modify, entering new stock quantities, and clicking the "Save Selected" button. At the same time you have the option to delete products in bulk by clicking the "Delete Selected" button.

Please note: deleted products cannot be retrieved from your store; use this option carefully.

WARNING: The Product Manager has a limit of 300 Products; you may not exceed this limit!
