 Shipping Manager

What is the Shipping Manager?

Before you can ship product to your customers you will need to select a Shipping Carrier and decide what methods you will offer. The Shipping Manager allows you to select and setup the shipping options for your store.

How do I use the Shipping Manager?

The Shipping Manager Menu is separated into three sections; Shipping Carrier, Shipping Origin, and Shipping Methods. This allows you to specify who you will ship through, where you will be shipping from, and any other specifics related to your selected option.

There are five "Shipping Carrier" options to select from:

  • Flat Rate Shipping: this option allows you to specify a single dollar amount value for shipping on all orders from your store.

In order for your store to calculate shipping and tax rates correctly during checkout you must enter a "Shipping Origin". Your Shipping Origin is the address from where your products will be shipped.

If you are using a real-time shipping method (UPS®, FedEx®, or USPS®) you will need to select and configure your shipping methods. Each method has five options that can be set:

  • Min Weight: If the total weight of an order is less than the Minimum Weight entered, this shipping method will not be displayed during checkout.
  • Max Weight: If the total weight of an order is more than the Maximum Weight entered, this shipping method will not be displayed during checkout.
  • Markup +/-: The Markup is a specific dollar amount that is added to the shipping rate generated by the real-time Shipping Carrier.
  • Sort Order: a number controlling the order which the shipping methods for this carrier will display. A Sort Order of zero (0) will display at the top of the list, while methods with higher numbers will display lower.
  • Hide: when this option is enabled the shipping method will still exist on the store, however, it will no longer be displayed at anytime during checkout.

If you have made any changes to the Shipping Manager you will need to click the "Save" button before it will take effect. If you would prefer to exit without saving, click on the "Cancel & Return" button to return to the main Site Admin Menu screen.

How do I register for UPS OnLine® Tools?

If you will be using UPS as the Shipping Carrier for your store you will need to register for a UPS OnLine® Tools account. There is no charge to register for an account and you can setup everything through your Control Panel. Until you have registered for your free account UPS Shipping options will not display during checkout on your storefront.

When UPS is selected from the Shipping Carriers list for the firs time a new link will appear at the top of the Shipping Manager.

UPS OnLine Tools Registration

Clicking on this link will take you to a summary of UPS OnLine® Tools. This page will explain the registration process as well as the two available UPS tools; Rates & Service Selection Tool and Time in Transit Tool. Once you are ready to register your store click the button.

The first page of the registration is the UPS OnLine® Tools Terms and Agreement page. Once you have read and agreed with the terms of the user agreement, click on the "Yes, I agree" button and click "Next" to continue.

Step two in your registration is to enter the contact information for your business. If you have already setup an account with UPS you will have the option to associate that with your UPS OnLine® tools account. You are not required to create an account with UPS for this registration process. Once you have entered your contact information click the "Next" button. If you have entered all of your information correctly you will receive a "Registration Successful" message. If any information was not entered correctly you will receive a message explaining what information needs to be changed.
