What is the Site Security Menu?

Visitors will find your store through your Domain Name. However, visitors will not convert to customers if they do not feel secure entering their information. The Site Security Menu allows you to select your SSL (security) option and enter your storefront's Domain Name.

What is SSL?

SSL (Secure Socket Layer) is the security technology used to create an encrypted link between a web server and a browser. This link makes it possible for all data between the web server and the browser to remain private and secure. Secure web sites will begin with "https://" within the address bar of your browser window and will cause a "lock" icon to appear.

How do I choose an SSL Security option?

Your Network Solutions store is automatically enabled with a Shared SSL Security Certificate. This option will be selected as default once your store has been created. The shared SSL is a 128-bit SSL Certificate (the highest level possible). If you continue with this option your secure pages will display similar to the following: https:// accountnumber.netsolstores.com/checkout.aspx

You have the option to purchase your own SSL Certificate specific to your Domain Name. If you have already purchased your own SSL Certificate, please submit an Express Support Request. Once your certificate has been installed, click on "Your own SSL" option to enable this option. If you will be using your own SSL Certificate your secure pages will display similar to the following: https://www.yourdomainanme.com/checkout.aspx.

If you would like more information on SSL Certificates or to purchase your own visit www.netsolssl.com.

How do I setup my own Domain Name?

Your store will automatically be assigned a temporary sub-domain from Network Solutions when your site is created. This sub-domain allows you to setup and design your store privately, without publishing to the public. If you have already purchased or own a Domain Name for your store you will need to make sure that you have updated the DNS to point to Network Solutions. Your original welcome letter will contain instructions on how to point your DNS to the correct servers.

From the Site Security Menu you will enter your Domain Name into the text box below "Storefront domain name". The Domain Name should be entered in the following format: http://www.yourdomainname.com.

How do I save my changes?

If you have made any changes within the Site Security Menu you will need to click the "Save" button before they will take effect. If you would prefer to exit without saving, click on the "Cancel & Return" button to return to the main Site Admin Menu screen.
